WUMB Blues Music Camp in September!
September is approaching and we've got a busy month planned. Kerri will close summer with a date at Infinity Music Hall, Norfolk, Connecticut supporting The Weight Band on 8/25, and after a few weeks to get some writing and recharging in, she'll gear up to join WUMB radio for the SAMW WUMB Blues Music Camp from 9/28 - 9/30. This year's instructors include Toni Lynn Washington, Paul Rischell and Annie Raines, Daniel Fox, Bob Halperin, Samuel James, and Paul Size. Kerri will teach 3 classes, covering country blues picking and singing, and songwriting. For more details and to sign up visit: www.wumb.org
Mark your calendars for 9/21! Kerri will give a special house concert at Cherry Brook House Concerts. The home is nestled in a private setting on the south shore of Massachusetts, located in Bridgewater. A charismatic way to gather with friends for an intimate performance of Americana and blues songs. Please email Judy @ email@example.com to reserve your seat. The doors will open at 7:00 and show starts at 7:30. Snacks and drinks will be served and a $10. donation is suggested.
We've recently been informed Kerri has been chosen as a semi formal showcase artist at this year's NERFA conference! The conference will take place from 11/8 - 11/11 in Stamford, CT. More information to come!

Summer has been a flash of 24 frames. Kerri has been hitting the road promoting Starseeds with dates throughout the US. She just returned from Grand Rapids, MN, where she played a set at KAXE radio's Mississippi River Music Festival in late July. She'll be staying closer to home in New England in August, playing on 8/9 @ The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge with The Bourbonaires, a cast of luminaries including drummer, Marco Giovino, guitarists, Chris Rival and Thomas Juliano, bassist Jesse Williams, and on keys and accordion, Sonny Barbato. Americana songwriting gem, Chuck McDermott will open the show! Tickets are available HERE and doors open @ 8:30 pm.
8/10 she'll take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard to play a solo show at The Ritz. We're thankful to WMVY for spinning "Peeping Tom," and Kerri is looking forward to playing it live for new fans on the island. She hits @ 7 pm.
Peace, light, and love...
We're off to an incredible start, ending April with an All-star cast of musicians at Menotomy Grill. Kerri had the honor of playing with Marco Giovino, Duke Levine, Sonny Barbato, and Jessie Williams! It was an unforgettable night of music followed by the release of new album, Starseeds at 6 On the Square in Oxford, NY. (Check out Kerri's new blog, Road Scenes for more...) We're just starting to receive spins on stations throughout the U.S. and looking forward to hitting the road over the next several months. Thanks to all for your support and see you out there soon...

a few early reviews and press quotes :
...Songs flush with expressive emotions and a slight slant towards the blues, Starseeds is Powers’ most definitive statement yet, one that finds a common bond in both its music and its message. Its eight originals and two choice covers — a moving take on Blind Faith’s restive anthem “Can’t Find My Way Home” and “Polly,” a lovely song of wistful reflection written by the late Gene Clark — find her sharing her sentiments in ways that ring with authenticity. At times, she comes across as a backwoods chanteuse, showing off a folky finesse that affirms a knowing delivery. Suffice it to say, Starseeds shines.
THE REVUE CA
Kerri Powers was born to play the guitar and tell stories that could best be defined as Mark Twain’s Mississippi River tales meet Kurt Vonnegut’s Sierra Nevada deserts. The Connecticut-based singer-songwriter, in other words, is a throwback, who would have been a star if she started performing in the ’70s instead of the early 2010s. Time, however, is on Powers’ side because people will eventually discover this gem of a talent who is a young Bonnie Raitt. Yes, she is like the legendary artist, playing blues, roots, Americana, country, and folk with an attitude and a sharp tongue. It is our pleasure, as such, to premiere Powers’ new song, “Bicycle Man”, today.
Featuring a classic, twangy guitar line and Powers’ classic, raspy vocals, “Bicycle Man” is swampy blues – roots number meant to be played in the blues bars that litter New Orleans’ Bourbon Street. It rocks and smoulders with the grit, attitude, and addictive qualities of Buddy Guy’s, Taj Mahal’s, and Ms. Raitt’s finest numbers. Her songwriting, too, is akin to these greats (and Vonnegut, too), where she applies wit and satire to tackle conventional norms. In this number, she takes the classic fairy tale and puts it on its head. There’s no Prince Charming arriving on a white steed or a motorcycle riding, leather jacket-wearing hero to save the day. The hero in Powers’ story is “the rambling girl”, who is the “cog in the wheel” or the man who rides a bicycle. A man who is powerless without his better half.
“Bicycle Man” is taken from Powers’ new album, Starseeds, which arrives May 4th.
